Debra Hill has pursued a dynamic career in education and STEM development, dedicated to promoting STEM literacy and enhancing professional growth for educators. With a strong educational background, including a Master of Natural Science in Physics from Arizona State University and a BS in Education with a focus on Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Hill has established a solid foundation in both science and education.
Starting as a high school science teacher, Hill taught Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, refining her teaching skills. She then progressed into roles as a curriculum specialist and coordinator of secondary science, where she directed the development and support of high-quality science instruction for over 600 secondary science teachers. During this phase of her career, she emphasized professional development, curriculum design, and instructional coaching.
In 2009, Hill obtained her Standard Principal Certification from Stephen F. Austin University, further bolstering her qualifications and leadership within the educational field. Her tenure at JASON Learning, where she served as Regional Director for Texas and later as Vice President of Curriculum Development, demonstrated her adeptness in collaborating with diverse partners to craft impactful curriculum modules. Her contributions to STEM education were acknowledged with multiple Best in STEM Awards.
Driven by her passion for innovation and collaboration, Hill founded FourC Futures LLC in March 2024. Here, she continues her mission of fostering STEM-literate citizens through research-informed professional development and educational opportunities for students. Throughout her career, characterized by leadership roles and educational milestones, Hill has remained steadfast in her commitment to advancing educational practices and nurturing STEM-literate individuals.
